Three “Saves” in 2024!

A client in Botetourt County had a team member collapse on the factory floor. CPR was started immediately and then they applied one of their AED’s and the shock was delivered in just over 2 minutes from the collapse. The team member was talking with his fellow team members when EMS transported him to the hospital.

Amy, one of our instructors, was working out at her gym when a man collapsed off of a treadmill. Amy immediatly started CPR and a shock was delivered with the facilities AED in short order. The patient was talking with EMS when he was transported to the hospital.

A client in Roanoke City had a visiting vendor collapse. CPR was started immediately and a shock was delivered with the client’s AED. The vendor was speaking with EMS prior to being transported to a local hospital.

Three examples of how immediate CPR followed up quickly with a shock from an AED allowed three families more time with their loved ones.

Roanoke Valley Gives – March 10, 2021


Roanoke Valley Gives will take place on Wednesday, March 10 ,2021 from 12:00 a.m. until 11:59 p.m.

Please consider making any donation you can to the Roanoke Valley Firefighters Foundation. The RVFF is almost 6 years old and is here to provide support to firefighter’s families in the event of a line of duty death. RVFF also provides financial assistance to firefighters in the Roanoke Valley in the event of “job” related cancer. The RVFF also has educational programs and grants for area firefighters to attend FDIC and bring what they learn back to the Valley. Another Great Story

This occurred during my last winter “on the job”. I am fortunate to say that I was part of this call although all I did was to help shovel snow to clear a path for the firefighters and medics doing the real work.
